Welcoming Early Spring 4/1/25
Early spring is such a beautiful time of year—a reminder of God’s handiwork as nature begins to awaken. On warmer days, I love taking a stroll down the road, searching for the first signs of blooming flowers and capturing their delicate beauty through my camera lens. This past week brought unseasonably warm weather, so I took the opportunity to trim my hydrangeas and tidy up my herb garden. Of course, I couldn’t resist getting sidetracked, pausing to admire and photograph the intricate details of leaf shapes, budding branches, and the first hints of color emerging from the earth.
But the biggest news in our family is the arrival of grandbaby #11! The long-running joke in our family is that my baby quilts predict the gender—and so far, I’m 11 for 11! Well… almost. When grandbabies #9 and #10 were both “cooking” at the same time, I made one boy quilt and one girl quilt—but ended up switching them. I still count that as a win in my baby quilt gender-predicting streak!
While we celebrate this new life, we are also mourning the loss of my beloved mother-in-law. Though our hearts ache, we rejoice in the promise that we will one day be reunited in heaven. She is no longer suffering, and for that, we find peace. Her love, kindness, and legacy will continue to be cherished in our hearts and through the generations of our family.
Spring is full of new beginnings, and I’m soaking in every joyful moment—from the blooms in the garden to the newest little blessing in our family. I’d love to hear—what signs of early spring are you noticing in your corner of the world?
